The Staffing Process
For over 20 years Continental has been providing staffing services to dozens of successful manufacturers.
Sourcing
The First step in the staffing process is what we call Sourcing. This means developing a list of potential candidates that possess the skills your job requires and are available to work at your location. For some jobs, this is relatively easy, but for technical specialties it can be quite a “treasure hunt.” To this end, we subscribe to Internet databases that cost thousands of dollars per year. We also have our own proprietary database of candidates gleaned from years of hiring experience. We also employ “headhunting” techniques to source candidates who may not be actively looking.
Qualify
The next step is to qualify the potential candidates. Using resumes or applications, we contact each candidate to assess their interest in your position and ensure they fit your criteria for the job. This brings us to a short list of candidates, usually 3 to 5 for a particular position. This is the list we present to you, our customer.
Interview
Most customers prefer to interview about 3 candidates. We coordinate these interviews and will sit-in if you desire. If you are inexperienced in interviewing, we have the expertise to guide the interview to ensure you get a comprehensive picture of the candidate.
Negotiation
Once you have made a selection, We act as a liaison between you and the candidate in the negotiation of salary and benefits. Much like a real estate agent working between buyers and sellers, we smooth out this process to ensure you and the employee are both satisfied. From years of experience, we know that getting it right from the beginning makes for a much happier employee-employer relationship in the years to come.
Background Checks
Lastly, we provide background checks and drug screens to make sure the candidate has represented himself honestly. Depending on the responsibilities of the position, this process can be simple or quite in-depth.
